Shishir Athale

Shishir Athale left Thermax EPS Ltd. to form and head Sudnya Industrial Services Pvt. Ltd. He qualified as an Energy Manager and as an Energy Auditor under the first examination held by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency in May 2004 and has relevant experience in developing energy efficiency programs in industry and has been part of teams that have implemented modifications in operating plants. FICCI's Energy Cell has a program for Capacity Building of Energy Managers and Shishir is on its Faculty to Train Energy Managers. He has been on CII’s Energy Sub-committees for End-use Energy Efficiency and for Cogeneration. He has also been on a Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Committee to evolve a National Policy on Bio-mass Based Cogeneration. He has over 25 years of experience in Energy Efficiency Improvement and has successfully executed energy cost reduction programs. During his previous employment he has worked with Thermax Energy Performance Services Limited, Thermax Limited, Ravi Vegetable Oil Industries and Ahmed Oomerbhoy in various capacities. Shishir has contributed to following publications: Energy Efficiency in Textile Wet Processing published by IIT, Delhi. Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI) Journal: Article on Cogeneration The Treatise on Oleo-chemicals and Fatty Acids Currently writing two chapters for a monograph on Cogeneration: one on the Costing of Cogenerated Energy and the other on the Pricing of Cogenerated Electricity, both subjects of live interest in India. Has reviewed a book on Energy Conservation prior to its publication for Tata McGraw Hill. "Safety Aspects of Cogeneration: Indian Steam Engineer’s Society Seminar on Cogeneration."
